Easter Holiday Workshop

This year’s Easter holiday workshop is called “Nature’s Call.” Together, we create a monumental spring landscape in watercolor. The drawing studio transforms into a gigantic flower meadow. With watercolor paint and various papers, everyone together creates the small details that grow and thrive in a flower meadow. There will be drawing assistance and instructions to help you paint everything from flowers and blades of grass to butterflies, snails, or a withered leaf from last year. Drop-in (some waiting time may occur). Recommended age from 6 years. Dates and times: April 2–5, 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., April 6–7, 12:00 p.m.–3:30 p.m.

Painting Plants with Illustrator Lina Ekstrand

Part of the Teckningsmuseet’s Easter holiday workshop “Nature’s Call.” Come to the museum on Thursday, April 4, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and try different ways of working with ink and watercolor. A plant can look so many different ways, and there are many techniques to use. Is your plant meticulously painted, an explosion of color, or prickly and fast? Using watercolor in different ways and with different techniques makes your picture come alive and exciting. We experiment under the guidance of illustrator Lina Ekstrand, who has worked for Rörstrand, SVT, Elle, and Dagens Nyheter. Drop-in.

Botanical Illustration / Conversation and Workshop with Lina Ekstrand

Thursday, April 4, 4:30 p.m.–7:00 p.m. Refreshments included. We start with an introductory conversation where illustrator Lina Ekstrand talks about how she works with different techniques, including watercolor, ink, and graphite in layers, to create a dynamic image. Lina works by hand and then digitally assembles the image, which allows for greater experimentation with different expressions. Then, we all try our hand at working with botanical illustration in various watercolor techniques, such as watercolor and ink.

Lina Ekstrand works as an illustrator and art educator and has created everything from book covers, signs, and packaging design to textile and porcelain patterns. Among her clients are Rörstrand, Åhléns, Ikea, Elle, Dagens Nyheter, and Myrorna.
